This year St Christopher’s CE High School has come a long way since 1st September 1958 when it first opened its doors. Today St Christopher’s teaches 1,310 pupils and students, while providing excellent facilities for the use of the community.

SLS is pleased to be working with St Christopher’s, not just raising additional revenue, but building important links with the community.

A Partnership Approach

St Christopher’s has always felt strongly about sharing its facilities with the local community, managing its own hire arrangements prior to establishing its partnership with SLS in 2015.

However, while the school had always worked hard to promote its facilities and hosted a vibrant programme of events for smaller community groups, time was in short supply.

Its facilities weren’t used to their full potential due a lack of time, staff and marketing expertise. SLS was brought on board and the school’s hire schedule has thrived.


Aiming Higher

SLS has supported the school in taking a strategic approach to hiring its facilities.

While hire generates valuable additional funds, the priority was – and remains – building links with the community; encouraging youngsters to reach their potential through extracurricular activity, building aspiration in their early years to serve them well throughout their lifetime.

SLS works hard to market the facilities, making service providers aware of the outstanding spaces available, including a sports hall, gymnasium and theatre. Led by a dedicated contact, the team delivers a packed schedule of events, seven days a week, all year-round.

SLS supports St Christopher’s not just in opening doors, but in breaking down barriers and building new links with the community.
