Our response to coronavirus

Everyone has been impacted by coronavirus and it’s a challenging time for all. At SLS, we bring communities together in schools, so school closures directly impacted our model overnight. We’ve been in business since 2011 and in that time we’ve delivered millions of pounds of funding back into schools and welcome over 25 million people into our schools every year – we’re a proud and passionate team and the last few weeks have been very tough.

As soon as it became clear the schools were closing and with no immediate support, we reluctantly had to furlough the majority of our workforce (some 1100 people) to try and protect their roles further down the line. This leaves us with a very small team who have been working relentlessly trying to speak to thousands of groups and schools across the country.

There is one thing we are certain of however and that is that we will be back working with hundreds of schools when they reopen and look forward to working together with them for years to come, along with our valued community hirers.

Thank you for your kindness and cooperation and as we’re being advised currently – please stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

Stay safe
